PALMERSTON TO DUNEDIN
TRUNK AIR SERVICE COMMENCES L Per Press Association. — Covyriaht.i ' CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Although the official opening of the trunk air service between Palmerston North and Dunedin is not until next Wednesday, de Havilland expresses Airways will be flying over the route to timetable from today. * Today one of the machines was flown to Palmerston North, and, at schedule time on Friday? it will leave Palmerston North for the south, and another machine will leave Christchurch for the north. The northbound machine cannot leave Dunedin, the southern terminue of the line, on Friday, because the temporary shelter there, to be used until the hangar is completed, is not quite rea’dy. The flights daily until Wednesday will be full-dress rehearsals, the pilots will accustom themselves to the route, will practice with the wireless and perfect, as .far as possible, the ground organisation at stoppingplaces.
