CRICKET. On New Year’s Day the Orawau Cricket Club played Omahuta at Omahuta. Omahuta won by 10 runs in the first innings, due to the excellent form of their principal bowler, J. Walker. A torrential downpour, which was very local, left pools of water on the ground, and everyone was drenched. Tennis. The annual meeting of the Tutekehua Tennis Club was held in the Tutekehua School on December 30. Mr M. Mulcahy was in the chair. The following officers were elected: President, M. D. G. Mulcahy; vicepresident, J. E. Tulloch, C. M. Robertson. C, H. Porrit; club captain, M. Hbulihan; secretaries, Miss E. Harris and Mrs H. L. Yprke; committee. M. Mulcahy, M. Houlihan, Miss K. Campbell, J. Abraham: handicap committee, J. E. Tulloch and C. M. Robertson. The club will be officially opened during the week-end, and a working bee will put the court in order. Ladder matches are to be started immediately.
