KAITAIA

PERSONAL. Mr Jack Keene, of Whangarei. has been spending his Christmas vacation with friends in Kaitaia. Mr and Mrs W. Marsh and family, of Wellington, are holiday-making with friends and relatives in Kaitaia and Ahipara. Mr and Mrs W. Woodall and family, of Awanui Road, Kaitaia, are camping at Ahipara. Mrs Albert Woodall and family, of Fryer’s Road, are also camping at the seaside. Mr Tasman J. C. Gurr, brother of Mr Norman Gurr, and manager of the National Mutual... Life [ Office for Hawke’s Bay and- Poverty Bay, paid a visit to Kaitaia and returned last Tuesday. He enjoyed his visit, and considers that the possibilities of the North are great. cf the -visitors and campers at Ahipara are: Mr and Mrs Lopdell, Hawke’s Bay; Mr Buddell, Auckland; Mr and Mrs Salvair, and their son, of Broadwood; Mr and Mrs Mcßeath, Perth, Western Australia; Mr and Mrs J. Paykell and family, of Auckland; Mr and Mrs F. B. Rowe, of Kaitaia; Mr and Mrs Watt, Te Kao; Mr and Mrs Maxwell and family and Mr Clark, of Auckland; Mr and Mrs Fred Puckey and family, of Kaitaia; Mr and Mrs Rutledge and family, of Kaitaia. Mr and Mrs I. Berghan and Miss Zita Berghan have returned to Ahipara after spending their Christmas holidays in Auckland. Mr John Grey, Auckland, is staying at Miss Reid’s boardinghouse at Ahipara, with his wife and two daughters. Mr and Mrs Claud Spiers, of Shannon,. accompanied by their son, were visitors to the North during the holidays. Mrs Long and son, of Kingsland, accompanied by Miss Hobson, are visiting E. T. Frost at Lake Ohia. Anglican Church. Attendances at tlfe Anglican services throughout the Mangonui county, on Christmas Day, constituted a record for that day in the history of the parish. In spite of the glorious weather and extremely tempting beach conditions following a very protracted period of inclement weather, the number of communicants exceeded by far that of any previous year.
