FINAL DAY AT ELLERSLIE TOTE INVESTMENTS INCREASE BY £21,000. f Special to “Northern Advocate."] AUCKLAND, This Day. Fine weather favoured the conclusion of the Auckland Racing Club’s, summer meeting at Ellerslie yesterday. There was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £42,329, against £32,625 on the final day last year, an increase of £9704. The investments for the meeting amounted to £208,854, compared with £186,893 10/, an increase of £21,960 10/. Final results: — Clifford Plate, of 350 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(l) Cuddle, 9.0 (L. J. Ellis), 1; (2) Jonathan, 9.3 (A. Tinker), and (3) Entail, 8.2 (G. Humphries), dead heat, 2. Won by three lengths. Time, 2.5 3-5. Winner trained by T. R. George, Trentham. Bowen Handicap, of 400 sovs; six furlongs.—(3) Boughal, 8.3 (Reed), 1; (4) Silver Streak, 8.12 (Ellis), 2; (1) Prince Venn, 7.3 (Wiggins), 3. Seven others started. Won by a neck; three parts of a length. Time, 1.12 3-5.
Gray Handicap, of 250 sovs; one mile.—(2) Valmint, 7.11 (T. Fearn), 1; (9) Mafeking. 7.1 (W. Thomson), 2; <8) Vera Acre, 7.0, 3. Nine others started. Won by a neck; half a length. Time, 1.39 3-5.
