The match -between the touring Marylebone Cricket team and an Australian XI began in cool weather yesterday, before an attendance of 4,170 people.' A partnership of 150 runs by Hard-, staff and Langridge saved Marylebone from a possible- rout after the English star batsmen had succumbed to the good bowling of Ebeling and Chiivers. Hardstaff played' a flawless, fighting knock. His century was made in 183 minutes, and included nine boundaries.
