WHANGAREI AIRPORT

COMMITTEE MEETS TOMORROW FORMATION OF BOARD WANTED. A meeting of the committee set up to take immediate steps to secure a temporary site for an aerodrome at Whangarei, will be held tomorrow, when plans and other details will be submitted. Speaking at the meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council last night, Cr. G. H. Morrish said; that a report of the recent conference had never been officially before the council. He still thought that there was a necessity for an airport board. The matter was vital to the town and borough council, but there was still no official body to make representations for money to be made available by the Minister of Finance. ( The Mayor said he had no doubt that finality would be reached tomorrow, and he would call a special meeting of the council immediately after to report what had been done. The council carried a motion approving the formation of an airport board;
