PAMPERED NATIVES.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —With reference to the letter from Mr Thos. Houston, president of the Kaitaia branch of the Farmers’ Union, published in yfcur issue of the 25th instant, I wish to state that the report of the interview published in your issue of the 11th October is correct. As the previous request of the Farmers’ Union (which I strongly supported), for an officer of the Valuation Department to make an inquiry into the charges made is to be complied with, I have no further comment to make at present. I am, etc.. M. R. FINDLAY.
