S. CALIFORNIA DAMAGE
GALE AND FIRE HAVOC. (Received 10 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, October 24. A change in the wind swept the Malibu Hills forest fires out of control again late today, after damage estimated at 8,000.000 dollars had been done in Southern California to crops by gales and fires. Four hundred fire-fighters were treated for minor burns, and many others were overcome by heat or smoke. Early today a distinct earthquake was felt through most of Southern California, but no damage has been reported.
