The House of Representatives again speeded up business yesterday, in order td try and finish the final session as quickly as possible. The House put through 13 local bills in record time. Among them was the Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill, which authorises the board to spend loan money on the purchase and fitting of its new tug. The Auckland Metropolitan Milk Amendment Bill was the only Bill to be debated lengthily and cause delay. Almost every Bill was passed without discussion, with the exception of the Milk Bill, which was interrupted in progress by the opposition of Mr A. Harris (Government —Waitemata) and Mr A. J. Stallworthy (Independent— Eden).
Before midnight, nine , Bills were read a second time. It was then decided that the House would sit through unfil these measures were completed.
