Mr F. Higginson returned to Whangarei yesterday, after attending the Anglican Synod at Auckland. Mr James Carr, of Methven, has accepted nomination as the National Government candidate for the MidCanterbury seat. Mr Carr is a County Councillor, and a member of the Electrie Power Board, the Wheat Board, and many other public bodies. The seat was made vacant by the death of Mr J. Connolly (Government).
