In the semi-finals, Shields beat Parker, 6 —3, 6 —3, 6—4, and Budge beat y Grant, B—6, 6—4, 6—l. Budge won the final, defeating Shield, 6—3, 5—7, 3—6, B—6, 6—l. Mrs Wills-Moody announced at San Francisco today that she will not play in the national championships at Forest Hills. The tournament at Wimbledon and the journey to England and back was ah effort, and another trip’ is more than ..she feels able to undertake at present.
