ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY

BUYING NEW BIRDS. A RUMOUR INVESTIGATED. The Whangarei Acclimatisation Society has decided to obtain 300 birds from Parkin Brothers, Awarua, at 12, a head. The birds will be 14 old and will be delivered in February. It was also decided to interview several other proposed breeders. The society has investigated a rumour that shooting had been going on on an area excepted from license. The witnesses, however, were unable to state what birds had been shot, and it was decided to take no further action. It was decided to recommend to the Minister of Internal Affairs that 1936 be a closed season. Messrs D. Wilson. Snow and Whitelaw, together with the president and vice-president, were appointed a legal and finance committee for the year-
