SAMOAN STAMPS
FIRST-DAY COVERS. ARRIVING , BY DIOMEDE. [Special to "Northern Advocate ”1 WELLINGTON. This Day. The H.M.S. Diomede, which will arrive in Auckland on August 23 from Apia, is bringing the first-day covers of the new issue of the Western Samoa pictorial stamps. The extent of public interest in this series can be gauged from the fact that there are 31,000 of these first-day covers, and collectors will now receive them a week earlier than had been anticipated.
