WHANGAREI V. MANGONUI CITY V. HIKURANGI THIS WEEK. . RUGBY UNION MEETING. August 31 has been chosen as the date for the Harding Shield final between Whangarei (winners of the . Southern zone) and Mangonui (Northern zone). The game will be played at Whangarei. At the meeting of the Whangarei Rugby Union Management Committee last night, September 7 was confirmed as the date upon which the Auckland B representative team will meet the Whangarei representatives at Whangarei. City and Hikurangi, the championship leaders, are drawn to meet at Hikurangi on Saturday. Much depends on the result. If City win they will be required to replay a match against Maungakaramea, and, if successful, will again meet Hikurangi in the final for the senior competition. Should Hikurangi win. Saturday’s match, they will recapure the title lost to City last season. No admission charge to the matches at Kensington will be made on Saturday. On the date of the Harding Shield final, a Whangarei senior B team will travel to Ohaeawai to meet the Bay of Islands representatives. A donation of £3 was made towards the entertainment of the Mt. Albert Grammar School team, which played in Whangarei last Saturday. Owing to the Whangarei * third grade representatives playing at Dargaville for., the Powell Shield on Saturday, all competition games in that grade have been postponed, but Hora Hora and Old Boys will play a friendly match. THIRD. GRADE RSPS. ' Mr T. Conaghan was appointed manager of the Whangarei third grade reps to play Northern Wairoa. The team will be:— . Curtis (Onerahi). Connelly (Onerahi), Mason (Onerahi) , W.
