SENATE GIVES WAY
AMERICAN TAX PLAN. (Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, August 12. Responding to popular protests, the Finance Committee of the Senate, reversed its previous decision today, by eliminating the increased levies on citizens of small means, which it had included in the President’s extensive taxation proposals.
