The Acting Prime Minister, Sir Alfred Ransom, stated today that plans for the session opening on August 29. were well forward. There would be. he said, a number of bills with the object of amending existing legislation. and he did not anticipate that any difficulty would be experienced in securing their passage through the House. In the event of*the Address-in-Reply debate collapsing unexpectedly, the Government would be prepared to go right ahead with its legislative .programme.
