Charleston (West Coast). —There was* no wash-up last week. A temporary stoning plant was installed, and it was hoped to recommence sluicing yesterday. Mataki (Murchison). —Last week, 360 z. for five days’ work. Alexander (Reefton) return for July, June figures being given in parentheses:—Crushed, 320 (324) torts, yielding 120 oz. Bdwts. (118 oz. 2dwts.) melted gold; cyanide treatment, 203 (225) tons sand treated for 250 z. 16 dwts. (340 z. sdwts> bullion; concentrates roaster produced 270 z. 4dwts. (370 z. sdwts.) bullion; total estimated value, at £7 5/ a fine ounce, £1077 (£1270). In addition, 10,399 tons of concentrates, valued at £Bl2 were saved.
