A dividend of 5 per cent, payable on September 15, has been declared by Gillespie’s Beach Gold-dredging Co., Ltd., (South Westland). Production Returns. Worksop Extended (near Reefton). —Last week, 51oz. for 134 hours’ work, and 9500 yards treated, v Waimumu (Gore).—For three weeks 40oz Idwt., making 760 z 17dwts for the paddock of 8000 cubic yards. Okarito (South Westland). Last week, 290 z. 13dwts. for 116 hours. Gillespie’s Beach (South Westland). —Last week, 350 z. 9dwts. for 139 hours. . Charleston (West Coast). —There was* no wash-up last week. A temporary stoning plant was installed, and it was hoped to recommence sluicing yesterday. Mataki (Murchison). —Last week, 360 z. for five days’ work. Alexander (Reefton) return for July, June figures being given in parentheses:—Crushed, 320 (324) torts, yielding 120 oz. Bdwts. (118 oz. 2dwts.) melted gold; cyanide treatment, 203 (225) tons sand treated for 250 z. 16 dwts. (340 z. sdwts> bullion; concentrates roaster produced 270 z. 4dwts. (370 z. sdwts.) bullion; total estimated value, at £7 5/ a fine ounce, £1077 (£1270). In addition, 10,399 tons of concentrates, valued at £Bl2 were saved.
