FATAL INJURIES

The death occurred in hospital on Saturday night of Mr Eric Malcolm Bell, of 4, Ferguson Street, Wellington, as a result of injuries received when a fruit lorry, in which he was travelling, was struck and wrecked at Kent Terrace earlier in the evening. A Hindu fruit lorry had broken down and Mr Bell had slopped to assist the driver to restart it. Subsequently, with Mr Bell in the lorry, the driver was following a tramcar along Kent Terrace. When crossing Cambridge Terrace, the lorry was struck by a tramcar and wrecked. The Hindi! received severe injuries.
