UNEMPLOYMENT TAXATION On Thursday, August 1, an instalment of the General Unemployment Levy will become payable, and on the same date the second instalment of the Emergency Unemployment Charge of tenpence in the £ on income other than salary or wages derived during the year ended March 31, 1935, will also fall due. Information regarding these taxes may be obtained at all Money Order Offices. Provided they have been eligible for relief for at least one month prior to the date when each instalment of the levy became due, the following classes of workers are permitted to pay a levy of only 1/- per quarter:— Men employed under Scheme 5 and in X’eceipt of sustenance, all camp workers except those who are paid at standard rates, and gold prospectors j subsidised from the Unemployment!
