PRICES IN THE PROVINCE. iSpecial to "Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day. There was an average yarding of fat pigs and a large entry of stores, at Pukekohe yesterday, reports Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd. Values for fats were steady, and equal to those ruling at Westfield. The store sales opened briskly, but eased owards/ the finish. Mediumweight choppers sold from 30/ to 45/; h baconers, 65/ to 70/; medium. 56/ to 61/; light, 51/ to 54/; heavy porkers.
42/ to 49/; light and medium, 31/ to 36/; small , and unfinished, 22/ to 28/; extra good framed stores, up to 40/; good framed and conditioned, 27/ to 33/; smaller, 22/ to 25/; slips, 14/ to 20/; good weaners, 14/ to 18/; smaller weaners, 10/ to 12/; weedy and poor, 5/ to 9/. The average price per lb. for baccners was from 5d to 54d per lb., and for porkers, from 54d to 54d per lb. • At Matamata on Wednesday the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co., Ltd., obtained the following prices;—Baconers, 58/ to 61/; heavy, 44/ to 50/; light, 34/ to 38/; large stores, 28/6 to 34/; smaller, 23/6 to 27/; slips, 17/6 to 23/; weaners, 11/ to 16/; Tamworth sows, third and fourth litter, 70/ to 94/; more backward, 47/6 to 65/.
