LEAGUE FOOTBALL

KNOCKOUT CONTINUES. TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. All grounds will probably be heavy for tomorrow’s football. League-ites will find plenty of interest in the games which constitute the second series of the knockout competitions, both senior and junior.

The match at Jubilee Park, featuring City and Hikurangi Colts, should prove an attraction. Last week, City shaped very nicely to outpoint Hikurangi United, while the Colts impressed by the manner in which they outplayed the champions, Takahiwai. A k&en contest between two determined sides should ensue.

At Hikurangi, the Uniteds face Kensington in the latter’s initial appearance in this competition. The red and blacks were a shade unlucky to lose last week, but are out to make amends tomorrow. With Kensington also right after the honours, a close tussle is very probable.

The feature of the junior series is the meeting of Portland and Kamo at Kamo. Onerahi travel to Hikurangi to provide the curtain-raiser, there. The Hikurangi Colts to play City will be chosen from —C. Hughes, E. Cunningham, R. Hamilton, J. Jones, N. C. Dunn, J. Cunningham, Shilford, R. Cunningham, C. Raisbeck, J. Rowe, C. O’Callaghan, A. Wells, A. McKenzie, W. Buchanan, E. Buchanan and N. Dunn.

The Hikurangi United thirteen will come from—R. McKinlay, C. Jones, E. Aldred, T. Toki, B. McKinlay, C. Meyer, T. Berghan, B. Meyer, E O’Callaghan, W. Meyer, T. Rockell, R. Jones, L, King, D. Codling and J, Codling.
