ASTRAY IN NEW GUINEA

AUSTRALIAN AVIATOR. MAY BE TWO OTHERS. (Received 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 25. A report has been received from New Guinea that Flight-Lieutenant S. A. Campbell, a prominent Australian airman, is missing in wild country in the Fly River district. He had flown there on mining business. It is also believed that Messrs W. Hellon and George Howden, two mechanics, may be in the aeroplane. A Southampton flying boat, which at present is being used in a survey of the Sydney-Darwin route, has left the Gulf of Carpentaria in order to search for Mr Campbell.
