MISSING AIRMAN
HOPE WANING. j STILL NO TRACE. I ■ I [Special to "Nortnern Advocate .”l j DANNEVIRKE, This Day. i The search for the missing airman. !Mr Hamish Armstrong, who left his home at 10 a.m. on Sunday last for Hastings, still cantinues, but up to midday today without result. A large area was covered yesterday by two Royal New Zealand Air Force machines and two machines from the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Aero Clubs. Also, the East Coast Airways Dragon machine operated toward the Whakarara ranges and elsewhere most of the day. Although faith has not been extinguished that the search will prove fruitless, still hope is waning. Mr Armstrong being accustomed to the bush, it is considered, he should have given some sign ’ere now had he been alive. However, the search today is to be carried cn and will be supplemented by a further machine from the Auckland Aero Club, piloted by FlightLieutenant D. M. Allan.
