MISSING AIRMAN

WEATHER BETTER

SEARCH TO CONTINUE, ,

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”1 NAPIER, This Day.

Heartened by the first sign of a break in' the weather since the search began, the parties engaged in the 'hunt for Mr Hamish Armstrong, 'especially the pilots of the planes assisting in the search by air, were able today to look forward to operations under conditions which gave new promise of some results. The weather conditions, though still rather dull, showed signs of a break this morning—the first such change since Saturday morning, when Mr Armstrong disappeared—although it may yet even be a late hour this afternoon before, the planes will be able to do anything of value, the prospect of operations under conditions which will be a help rather than a hindrance has stimulated the searchers. One of the East Coast Airways Dragon machines left the ground this morning to ascertain the conditions over the localities at which it is intended to concentrate, and returned at 1 o’clock to report that the weather was lifting, especially in the dispersal of fog and mist, to such an extent tjaat a large force of planes might usefully set out later in the day to continue the search.
