STATEMENT TO BE ISSUED,

An early announcement regarding the introduction by the Railways Board of rail motor cars for use in particular districts is to be made by the General Manager of Railways. The question was discussed by the board yesterday, when it held it ordinary monthly meeting in Auckland. The general manager was authorised to say on behalf of the board that an announcement would be made in a few days concerning the policy in regard to rail motors, which would apply to passenger business in particular areas. The details of any decision are not yet available, and they will be contained in a statement to be issued by the general manager.
