BEEF DEARER. STORE SHEEP IN DEMAND. [Per Press Associating. — r'oxivrmht.' CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A short entry of fat cattle at the Addington market yesterday was reflected in a sharp advance in the price of beef, equivalent to 2/6 per lOOlbs. Mutton values were maintained, and there was a strong demand for all classes of store sheep. Store Sheep.—Forward wethers sold to 24/1, and a first line of the season’s ewes and lambs, all counted, to 13/8. Fat Sheep.—There was an entry of 4100. Wethers maintained their values, but big ewes were a shade easier. Show wethers made to 40/; prime, 25/ to 32/; ordinary, 21/ to 24/; best ewes, 25/ to 29/7; medium to good, 22/ to 24/6; others, 14/ to 21/. Fat Cattle.—The yarding totalled 360 head. Three was a keen sale, with an advance of up to 25/ a head for good steers. Good beef made from 27/6 to 29/6; extra, to 31/; medium, 24/ to 26/6; ordinary, 21/ to 23/6; extra prime heavy steers, £ls 12/6; prime heavy, £ll to £l2 15/; prime mediumweight, £9 5/ to £lllO/; ordinary, £6 5/ to £8 10/; extra prime heifers, to £ll 2/6; prime heavy. £6 5/ tr £8 10/; medium, £4 15/ to £5 15/; extra prime cows, to iclO 7/6; prime. £5 10/ to £7 10/; ordinary, £4 5/ to £5 5/.

Fat Pigs.—There was an average demand, porkers being slightly easier. Baconers made 42/ to 78/, the average price per lb. being s.td to 5Jd. Porkers, 23/ to 47/G (average price per lb,, 5Jd to 5Jd).
