Mr A. C. Fye, of Auckland, who was to have been the lecturer at this afternoon’s meeting of the Ladies Gardening Club, was unable to attend owing to the express having been held up by floods at Wayby. Constable Ryan, who has been stationed at Wells-ford for the past eight years, was farewelled at a large gathering of settlers from the surrounding district, upon his retirement from the Force after 37 years’ service. The presentation of a chiming clock was made by Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden. Constable Dale of Whangaroa will take charge of the Wellsford station. Hotel Registers.
