FROM FAR NORTH
TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS. MANGCiNUI v. WHANGAREI. Eager to match their strength against some team outside their Own county, table tennis players from Mangonui will play in Whangarei tomorrow night. The Northerners have not faced outside opposition previously, and the team, drawn from the top members of the Kqitaia, Fairburn-Kaiaka and Takahue dubs, will meet the Whangarei club, strengthened by one or two from Mangapai.
Twelve men will travel, and with contrasts in their styles of play some entertaining matches should be witnessed. The' standard of ladies’ play is not of a very high order and only a small number will represent that section.- . -
The ! six tables of the Whangarei club will be in use and the men’s games will be -contested in A. and B. sections.
The locals will be represented by.-
Ladies: Misses D. Morrison, Gloyn, Spring, Peat, McAuley, McAdam and Mrs Grmandy. Men; Chissell, Finch, Price, Ormandy, Baigent, McAdam, Madden, Tait, Nixey, Lacey, Conaghan and Maddren.
