The possibility of an alteration to the electoral law before the next election, involving a change to some system of preferential voting, is freely discussed in political circles.
Questioned concerning the matter, the Acting Prime Minister, Sir Alfred Ransom, said that although the matter
had been discussed tentatively no concrete proposal had been placed before Cabinet.
