ADVERTISING CONTRACT. YOUNG MAN REMANDED. LSpeclal to ’’Northern Advocate ”1 DUNEDIN, This Day. In the Police Court, Roy Gordon Capel, aged 24, pleaded not guilty to a charge that, on April 4, at Eltham, with intent to defraud, he obtained from Arthur White Packard £5 17/8 by falsely representing that an Auckland firm had entered into a contract to advertise its business in the “Eltham Argus” and “Inglewood Times.” The chief detective applied for a remand for a week to enable inquiries to be made. Accused was arrested on a warrant issued at Eltham. The remand was granted.
