An official news agency states that Japanese three times recently violated the Siberian-Manchukuo frontier. Two Japanese-Manchukuo gunboats entered a tributary of the River on June 27. With sailors, stationed at the guns, and machine guns trained on Russian gunboats, men on board photographed the Russian craft. Wishing to avoid a clash, the Russians allowed the trespassers to proceed. ' : V : • Forty Japanese infantry, on June 23 and 26, says the agency, advanced several hundred yards into Soviet territory near Chabarovsk and occupied a hill and valley. They remained, for hours making observations. Russian patrols avoided a iconflict by refraining from firing.
