SOUTH AFRICA V. STAFFORDSHIRE. BOWLERS DOMINATE PLAY. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 26. The South African cricketers commenced a two-days’ match at Stoke-on-Trent against Staffordshire, a second-class county. The home side batted first and was dismissed for 60 (Langton 4 wickets for 6).
The visitors replied with 190 (Mitchell 73; Backhouse 5 wickets for 49).
In their second innings Staffordshire had lost three wickets for 33 when stumps were drawn.
