COOPER’S BEACH CLUB.

The Cooper’s Beach Golf Club held a committee meeting on Tuesday evening, Mr Mitchell presiding. The arrangements for exchange of visits between Kaeo and Cooper’s Beach Clubs were left in the hands of the president; An annual competition for the Binney Cup is to be arranged, and a miniature cup for the winner is to be presented. Rules governing this competition are to be drawn up immediately, and play over a given period for three games of 18 holes each will be commenced as soon as possible. MAUNGATAPERE CLUB. Good progress has been made with the work of transferring the Maungatapere Golf Club’s course to Mr Foote’s properly at the Kara Road junction. On Saturday, a working bee raised the clubhouse and placed it upon a lorry, to be carted to the new site. Some of the workers had their lunch in the clubhouse on the old links, and afternoon tea in the same building on the new site. ' It was decided to open the new links officially on Saturday afternoon, and in the meantime a good deal of work will be done on the greens. The course has been reduced from 12 to 9 holes, which gives a satisfactory length of almost 2800 yards.
