N.Z. SECRETARY RESIGNS. CIVIL AND WAR SERVICES. • CPer Press Association. — CovyrigTU.i WELLINGTON, This Day. It is announced that Mr J. Pow, Dominion secretary to the New Zealand Farmers’ Union for the past 12 years, has resigned as from July 1. Mr Pow received his education at the Southland Boys’ High School and the Otago Boys’ High School. He served in the Boer War and with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade from 1915 to 1918. He attained the rank of lieu-tenant-colonel and was twice wounded. He was awarded the D. 5.0.. in 1917 and in addition was three times mentioned in dispatches. Apart from his duties with the Dairy Union, Mr Pow was also secretary of the R.S.A. from 1920 to 1922 and the Royal Agricultural Society in 1924.
