WEEK ENDS FIRMLY. [Special to “Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day. After the last call yesterday, an exceptionally heavy list of sales was put through before brokers closed down for the day, the business chiefly comprising Government stocks, which changed hands at full late rates, and with advances in some cases. At this morning’s call, there was again a keen demand, but sellers had withdrawn. The only lines on offer were a parcel of 1940 bonds available at £lO3 15/, and one of 1946 stocks offered at £lO7 15/. The 1955 issue was quoted, ex interest, with buyers at £llO 15/. . In the banking section, New Zealands were quoted, ex-dividend, with sellers, at £2 10/6, and no buyers. Milne and Choyce debenture stock was offered cheaper at 17/, and a buyer came in at 14/6. South British were steadier, with buyers at £4 16/6, and no sellers,
