NICE LINE OF HEIFERS. : MR C. STEVENS’ PROPERTY. TOP PRICE OF 17 GUINEAS. The North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., and Wright Stevenson and Co., Ltd., in conjunction, conducted the annual reduction sale of Crystal Spring's Jersey heifers, the property of Mr Charles Stevens, of Maungatapere yesterday. There was a representative attendance, buyers being present from Waipu, Northern Wairoa and Kaitaia, with good local competition. Thirtyone heifers were offered and a total clearance made at the very satisfactory average of almost ten guineas. The offering comprised a particularly wellbred line, the heifers being one of the best lots submitted in the North for. some time. They were presented in first-class sale order, and the bidding ohroughout was bright. Compared with others this season, the sale was most successful.
The top price realised was 17 guineas for Crystal Springs Thistle, a two-year-old, purchased by Mr C. F. Hutlev, of Awanui.
The next highest prices reached the 15-guinea mark, and the average was j : ; guineas. Details of the various lots sold are as follows: —
