A GOOD TURN
CRIPPLED BOY CHEERED. Mrs Mclnnes, of Kamo, writes a§ follows to the Editor of the “Advocate”: —“As the result of the recent clothes drive in Whangarei, a gramophone and records were put into my hands for a poor crippled' hoy I know out in the country. He is passionately fond of music, and got a lot of pleasure out of an accordeon, which was broken up as the result of lending; The gramophone is at present at Mr Laurie’s,' who is kindly mending the spring. I do not know who the Good Samaritan was who gave it, but I hope they will see the boy’s letter (which I enclose), and they will know that it could not have gone t to any home where it would be more appreciated.” Dear Mrs Mclnnes, ■ Just a few lines to say we have just received your letter. It was a great surprise to me when I heard you had a gramophone for me. I would love to have it, as I sit by the fire all day now the winter’s here, and it would be great to have some music, as lam fond of it. I have not been well for a month, but I am feeling a little better now. I can’t get about like I used to. I would also like some magazines, if you have, any to spare. Thank you for your lcind>ness, Mrs Mclnnes. I think lam very lucky. ■
