The Transport Co-ordination Board continued its hearing yesterday afternoon of applications by New Zealand Airways, Ltd., for amended routes applicable to various aerial services in the Dominion. East Coast Airways objected to a license for the type of machines proposed, said Mr J. G. Nolan, on the grouhd of public safety, because the company, having as its avowed intention extension when • warranted beyong GisboVne and Napier, was entitled to some protection from the boai'd, in view of its existing license. Wing-Commander Grant Dalton agreed and said he considered twinengined machines were the only type suitable for civil aviation. _ The board resexwed its deceision.
