HIGH SCHOOL BOARD
MEETING LAST NIGHT. PARENTS’ REPRESENTATIVE ELECTION. The Whangarei High School Board of Governors met last night, Mr H. |C. Rishworth presiding, j Mr C. Collins, Auckland Education | Board representative, and Mr J. A. S. iMacKay, county chairman, were welcomed to the board, j The unemployed workers requested j the use of a piece of ground between i Rugby Park and the Ambulance j Building for the growing of vege- | tables, and this was granted, i The resignation of Mr J. G. Britland I from the senior school staff was 'accepted with regret. Appreciation j was expressed of his services to the | school and as a former house-master. I The secretary was appointed returning officer for the election of a pari ents’ representative on the board. ! The election will be held in July. | A contract has been let for the painting of the interior of the girls’ school, and the work is proceeding. The grounds committee was re- | quested to report on the lay-out of j the grounds of both schools, with re- ; gard to future development.
