ACCLIMATISATION
TRIBUTE TO LORD BLEDISLOE. fPer Press Association. — Copyright,). WELLINGTON, This Day. A letter was sent recently by Mr. L. O. H. Tripp, president of the New Zealand Acclimatisation Society, to the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, expressing the society’s regret at his impending departure from the Dominion, and deep appreciation of His Excellency’s work in stressing the necessity for protecting flora and fauna. Appreciation was also expressed of the great interest he has taken in the encouragement of sport in New , Zealand. The Governor-General has replied stating that the association’s generous expressions of good will were most gratifying to Her Excellency and himself. Both were not likely to forget their happy experiences in their realm of sport. In his judgment, the activities of the society in fostering fish research were a most important work, which could not fail to be of increasing value, improving still further the standard of New Zealand’s unrivalled trout fishing.
