HOMEWARD BOUND
' DUKE OF GLOUCESTER FAREWELL TO SAMOA. VISIT A GREAT SUCCESS. (Received 9 a.m.) APIA, February 7. The Duke of Gloucester visited eocoa plantations in the central group this morning. In the afternoon he attended a native reception at Mulinuu, in which more than 10,000 natives took part. The celebrations included the King’s ~kava. There was a touching ceremony at the wharf on the departure of the Duke, when farewell songs were sung by the Malifa and Avele school choirs. The Royal visit was a great success, both from the native and European points of view. The weather was exceptionally fine throughout. GUILDHALL LUNCHEON. WHEN H. R. H. RETURNS. LONDON, February 7. The City of London Council has decided to tender an official welcome to the Duke of Gloucester at a luncheon in the Guildhall- after his tour. ■ Major R. W. Gow, in proposing the luncheon, paid a tribute to the Duke, and said the city by this action would express the feelings both of Britain and the Dominions.
