KAMO RAM FAIR
FIRST OF SEASON. PRICES UP TO EXPECTATIONS. Thfe North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., report holding a ram fair at Kamo yesterday. This was the first ram fair of the season, iand there was a good attendance. Prices were on a level with late rates. One-shear Romney rams of best quality made to 6 h gns., medium quality from 12 to 42 gns. A line sold on account of Mr A. E, Harding (Dargaville) made from 31 to 6 ghs; on account of j. Nash (Tangiteroria), 21 to 5 gns; on account of N. j. Lamb (Tangihua), 12 to 5i gns. A line bred by Hunter and Blair, of Hawera, oh account of D. Cairns (Poroti), made to 61 gns. One-shear Southdown rams, best quality, made t‘p 7.‘1 gns; medium, made from 34 to 5 gns. A line which was sold on account of P. Carter (Mangapai) made xrom 31' to 71 gns; on account of J. N. McCarroll, 3 to 4 gns.; on account of D. W. Bodle (Matarau), 21 to 3 gns. A line of one-shear Ryelands, on account of H. C. Hewlett (Mata), made from 2 to 21 gns. Dalgety and Company. Dalgety and Company report holding a. ram fair at Kamo yesterday, when a full advertised yarding of all classes came forward. Competition was keen and the attendance good. Prices were up to expectations. Best quality oneshear Romney rams made to 6i gns; medium, from 24 to 5 gns; average, from 11 to 22 gns. A line offered on account of A. E. Harding realised from 5 to 61 gns; on account of J. Nash (Tangiteroria), from 21 to 41 gns.; on account of N. J. Lamb (Tangihua), from 11 to 31 gns. Best quality oneshear Southdown rams made from 41 to 7;1 gns; medium, from 32 to 61 gns. A line offered on account of A. H. Crane (Ngararatanua) made from 33 to 51 gns; on account of C. H. Finlayson (Purua), from 4 to 71 gns; on account of D. W. Bodle (Matarau), 2 to 4 gns; on account of N. J. Wilson (Houto), 4 to 51 gns. Sheep Fair. Dalgety and Company also report having held a sheep fair at Kamo on Thursday, when 3500 sheep were yarded. Prices were on a par with late rates. Two-tooth wethers made from 15/9 to 21/-; 2-tooth ewes, from 23/- to 26/-; five-year-old ewes, 15/3 to £1; aged ewes, 6/9 to 13/. The demand for store lambs was not as keen as at previous fairs, but a total clearance was effected under the hammer. Best woolly lambs, 12/3 to 15/9; shorn store lambs, 4/ to 8/6. OTHER OFFERINGS. N.A. FARMERS’ REPORT. j The North Auckland Farmers’ Coj op. presented a. full yarding of sheep at MitUai yesterday. Ewes and wethers sold up to late quotations, while j lambs were slightly easier, Ee/t twoj tooth wethers brought up to £i; best two-looth ewes, up to Sa / ; five-year-old ewes, 14 '3 to 16 S; aged (ewes (poor), 5 11 to S'; best Roffmey lambs. 14/; smaller lambs, 6 ; to 10-6. Stork Sates. i i j At Paparoa (Thursday) and Mauj ngaturoto (Friday), the same firm [yarded small offerings, and compeItition was poor. Boner cows and j potter bulls were much easier. A pen of 18-months-old steers sold at £3 6/; boner cows. 8/ to £1; potter bulls, 6/ to £l.
