SHOW ENTRIES
SATISFACTORY SUPPORT. LAST MINUTE RUSH. Although the exact total will not be known until later in the week, it is expected that the Whangarei Summer Show entries, which closed on Saturday, be well in excess of last year. There was the usual rush of competitors who had left the entry of their exhibits to the last minute, and this will have the effect of hindering the compilation of the catalogue.
Classes which have been well supported include dairy cattle, horses, ring events and pigs. Stimulated no doubt by the special export classes, and the increased diversified farming in the North, there has been a remarkable growth of interest in the pig classes. Support given by sheep men is disappointing, but among the exhibitors will be the well known pedigree breeders, Messrs C. G. and F. C. Aicken, of Woodhill.
