KAMO COAL

USE ON RAILWAYS

REGULAR ORDER SECURED,

Following representations made by the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce, the Railway Department placed a trial order with the new colliery at Kamo. As a result of this trial it is satisfactory to note that this coal is now being used by the railways. In a letter to Mr W. M. Fraser, one of the three proprietors of the Kamo Collieries, Mr E, Casey, acting General Manager, states that as the trials had indicated the suitability of the coal for locomotive use. arrangements were being made to place a regular order for 50 tons per week with the company.
