BETTER BUSINESS
DUNEDIN REPORTS CHRISTMAS RETURNS C Per Press Association—Copyright.! DUNEDIN, This Day. It is about forty years since Dunedin has had such a fine November and December as have been enjoyed this year. A light drizzle fell early on Wednesday morning, but soon cleared and the weather again became sultry in the afternoon. Rain is still badly needed. In parts of North Otago farmers are concerned as to the probability of crops, both cereal and otherwise, becoming a total loss. The joyous spirit of Christmas has been more marked on this occasion than for years. Shopkeepers report better business than for the past three years, while railways, trams, Post and Telegraph services all established the best returns for years, increased staffs having to be employed to cope with the rush.
