There was little between them at the finish. Air Lassie and Ornamental completed a six-furlong task in 1.18 3-5, the former pleasing the better. Gold Pocket and the Romeo —Akahau gelding traversed the same distance in 1.18. They went from a straggling start. The two-year-old Tidalia was going easily while running home from the three-furlong post in 42 l-ssec. Hawthorn did useful work ove& a round, running the last six furlongs in 1.25 1-5. Roman Mascot was allotted half a mile, covering the distance comfortably in 55sec.
