The “Daily Telegraph’’ states that the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of York, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood. and the Duke of Gloucester also combined to give Princess Marina a magnificent diamond necklace. A woman guest said everyone would remember the Royal servants’ party', for the rest of their lives. Princess Marina locked radiantly happy, and it was obvious how happy she and her Duke of Kent ax-e. The Queen, too, was a happy and striking figure.
London is crowded with visitors for the wedding tomorrow. Additional police have been called on to control the exceptionally heavy traffic at Westminster, where a number of sightseers flocked into the gaily decorated streets.
The weather is intensely cold, but at midnight Bond Street was densely packed with pedestrians and motor car, while all neighbouring parking places were fully occupied. The preparations are now complete for the wedding. The only anxiety relates to the weather. A layer of clouds imprisoning the day’s • smoke plunged London into darkness early this afternoon, but the forecast for tomorrow is for mild weather, with bright intervals.
