VERY'SMALL OFFERINGS,
There was a fair yarding at Pakotai yesterday, the bulk of which consisted of store cows and steers, states the report of Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd. Competition for these was fair and prices were on a par with late rates.
Store cows made 25/ to £3 15/; steers, 3 and 4-year-old. £4 10/ to £5 5/; yearling and 2-year-old, £2 10/ to £3 5/; dairy cows, £1 10/ to £2 10/.
There was a particularly small yarding at the sale conducted by the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd. but competition was keen. Fat cows brought £2 10/ to £3 14/: store cows, 257; yearling Ayrshire bulls, 2gns.
1 KAMO PIG SALE. i WAKELIN’S EFFORT. Walter Wakelin reports Holding a successful pig sale at Kamo yesterdaj', when the advertised number of pigs came forward. Although prices were inclined to be easier, in sympathy, no doubt, with the slight decrease in export values, a total clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. The advertised herd of dairy cows also met with keen competition and sold at prices ranging from £2 10/- to £5. Quotations; —Baconers, £2 5/- to £2 15/-; heavy porkers, £2 to £2 8/-; light porkers, £1 11/6 to £1,17/-; good stores, £1 8/- to £1 11/3; best slips, £l 5/- to £1 7/3; medium slips. £1 to 23/6; best weaners, 17/6 to £1 1/-: small and medium weaners, 11/- to 15/-; pedigi'ee Tamworth sows, two-months-old, 3 guineas.
