The following report on the weekly Wesctfield fat stock sale, held yesterday, is submitted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. ; Ltd.Extra choice ox sold to 27/- per 100 lbs; choice and prime, 24/- to 26/-; secondary and plain, 20/- to 23/-; prime young cow and heifer beef, 23/- to 26/-; secondary, 19/- to 22/-. Extra prime steers ranged in price from £lO to £lO : 15/-; heavy, £9 to £9 15/-; lighter, £8 to £8 17/6; light, £6 to £7 17/6; small i and unfinished, £3 to £5 15/. Extra j heavy prime young cows and heifers, £6 to £6 10/-; heavy, £5 to £5 15/-; lighter, £4 to £4 15/-; light, £2 15./to £3 15/-; others, 30/- to 50/-. j Sheep.—We had more tnan an average yarding of sheep, which met with a leady sale, values being on a par with last week’s sale. Heavy prime wethers, 25/ to 26/3; medium, 23/3 to 24/9; light, 22/ to 23/; small and unfinished, 18/ to 21/9; heavy prime ewes, 15/ to 17/9; medium prime, 13/3 to 14/9; light prime, 11/ to 13/; inferior, 3/9 upward, heavy prime hoggets, 22/6 to 23/9; medium, 21/ to 22/3; light, 19/ to 20/9; unfinished, 16/ to 18/6. Lambs,—We had less than an average entry of lambs, which sold readily, prime lambs selling at from 15/ to 21/6; small, 9/ to 14/. Pigs.—Pigs came forward in average numbers. Porkers showed a further easing in values. Baconers sold well up to late quotations. Choppers sold !from 20/ to 67/6; heavy and medium baconers, 57/ to 72/; light baconers and heavy porkers, 43/ to 55/; medium and light porkers, 30/ to 40/; small, 25/ to 29/. Values for store pigs were firmer on last week’s quotations. Large stores, 24/ to 28/; slips, 18/ to 23/; weaners, 12/ to 21/; sows, 40/ to 67/6. Calves. —There was less than an average yarding of calves, and values had an easing tendency all round. Runners made 35/ to 72/; heavy vealers, 48/ to 63/; medium, 38/ to 46/; light, 28/ to 36/; smaller, 18/ to 26/; small and fresh-dropped, 3/ to 15/; rough calves, 7/ to 14/.
