SIEGE OF LUCKNOW
ANOTHER SURVIVOR PASSES. (Received 9 a.m.) LUCKNOW, November 10, Military honours were accorded at the funeral of Mr Frederick Lincoln, one of the last survivors in India of the siege of Lucknow. Mr Lincoln was a well-known lawyer and was born in Lucknow in 1855. He was under three years of age wheh the Residency was besieged, his father being District Judge at Sitapur.
Mr Lincoln’s death leaves Mr A. G. Campagnac, of Calcutta, as the only Lucknow Siege survivor in India. Of eight others, six are in England, and one in British Columbia. One is Sir Ralph Couper, of Australia.
